Kim Kardashian is facing backlash for supporting the luxury designer brand Dolce & Gabbana. the reality star posted on her Instagram story a gift the brand sent her. “So I come home to these amazing huge Dolce and Gabbana boxes,” Kim said in her video. “And inside are these sequin tuxedo jackets with a vest.”
She shows off three black sparkly jackets and the “amazing huge” boxes.
Diet Prada, a popular fashion Instagram account that calls out copycats in the industry and other drama, pointed out that in May 2018 Stefano Gabbana called the Kardashian family “the most cheap people in the world.”
The photo was of Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kim. Kim was wearing vintage Versace.
The brand has also been seemingly canceled for their racist Asain ad on how to use chopsticks. Diet Prada also covered the controversial ad and why it’s problematic.
“[The video] attempts to target China, but instead mocks them with a parodied vision of what modern China is not…a gag for amusement,” the account wrote.
On top of all of that, Domenico Dolce talked about how they don’t support IVF and surrogate pregnancies.
“The only family is the traditional one. No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed,” the designer said back in 2015 to Italian magazine Panorama.
He went on to say, “You are born to a mother and a father — or at least that’s how it should be. I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Uteri [for] rent, semen chosen from a catalog.”
He eventually apologized for his statements. Kim had her third child Chicago through surrogacy and is supposedly expecting a fourth child in May thanks to a surrogate.
Kim seems to not be aware of Gabanna’s diss toward her family, opposition toward surrogate pregnancies and racist past and shared the video of free goodies without hesitation.
Her fans were confused and called Kim out like Diet Prada did.
According to Page Six, an hour after Kim posted the video she deleted it from her story.
